1938 Ford model "Y" Tudor (Long Rad) manual. Resplendent brown with black wings complimented with a tan interior and colour coordinated wire wheels.
The only 4 seat saloon to ever sell for as little as £100, Fords immortal Model "Y" is much loved to this day with as few as 1250 remaining. This 84 year old little Ford was purchased when brand new by a doctor who used the car for his visits during the war clocking up a mere 19000 miles during his ownership. The car still retains the original supplying dealer decal on the dashboard and rear "Please pass running in" sticker in the rear window!
The car was then stored for many years finally finding a new owner in 2014 who embarked on a very thorough and detailed photographic restoration completed in 2018. All the original panels, tub and radiator cowel were prepared and repainted in the correct colours, the underside was remarkably sound and only needed cleaning and re painting for protection, floor boards replaced, wooden roof panel replaced and re-covered, overhauled window winder mechanisms, refurbished rear window blind, complete interior retrim with new seat covers, carpets and headling all chrome items were rechromed, a reconditioned engine fitted and a bespoke toolbox was fabricated offering extra luggage storage. Recently the car has had new tyres, battery, stainless steel exhaust, plugs, points and coil. Although restored the car has been kept as close to original specification including a bulkead mounted green "Castrol" top up oil tin plus unusual wind down rear side windows!. It has been sparingly used since, now displaying 20000 miles.
Accompanying the car is a very detailed and interesting file ,documenting the history of the car from new including build dates, details of ownership, detailed photographs of the restoration, bills receipts etc (Makes for fascinating reading!)
A very pretty & unusual car presenting very well, in a stunning colour combination, driving very well with a strong engine and three speed manual gearbox and a solid chassis.
