1958 Ford Popular 103E 8HP Three speed manual.

This impeccable 66 year old little 'Pop' is outstanding in every respect, having been treasured by its last local owner to us for the last 5 years who only covered minimal mileage visiting local car shows where he achieved much success in various classes.

During his ownership, it became very much a labour of love, bringing the car up to his exacting standards. The body and paintwork was professionally completed to a very high standard, with photograhic records. the wooden floors, headlining, clutch, fuel tank, vinyl roof panel, and tyres were renewed. The brakes were overhauled with new brake cables and shoes. The steering was overhauled with new king pins, track rod ends and drag links. The radiator was recondiioned. The underside was fully cleaned and rust protected and the suspension items individually painted. The engine clynder head has been removed, serviced and fitted with a new head gasket. Retaining its original working Semaphore trafficators he added modern indicators for modern drivers to recognise and clearly see.

The glorious (As said by 'Henry Ford' 'You can have any colour as long as its black') is absolutely stunning with a mirror finish and gorgeous depth of shine. The interior is a lovely place to be in super conditoin. Even all the dials, switch gear and dasboard are crisp and bright.

She starts on the button, and having driven the car some miles I was very impressed. She has a sweet sounding engine and a lovely smooth gearbox and clutch, an absolute joy to cruise the country lanes.

In the history file we have the original instruction book along with photographs, previos Mots, bills and receipts etc.

The total recorded mileage is approximately 27000 miles. The speedometer was replaced by the previous owner early in his ownership, with the old unit retained to confirm. This mileage may be correct however cannot be guaranteed due to the age of the car.

Many cars of this era dissapoint in so many areas with layers of crazed, cracked, often brush painted bodywork, ripped torn, interior, non existent headlinings and very tired mechanical compnenents. This impeccable little 'Pop' surpasses in every respect and is possibly the best available.

The transferable original registration number has been valued at £2500 by 'Reg Transfers' Dunstable.
