1999 'S' Classic 'Smiley' Ford Transit 2.5Di 120 SWB. One owner from new. Genuine 41000 miles.

This unique time warp Transit was supplied new by 'Reg Vardy trucks' of Reading in January 1999 to its one and only owner who covered only 41000 in his two years of ownership until he sadly passed. The van was placed in dry storage where it resided until it emerged and was recommissioned in 2024 at a cost of £1121.47. Works carried out included new timing belt, water pump, front brake calipers, brake pads, brake hoses, brake cylinder, brake shoes, handbrake cable, starter motor full exhaust and a full service including engine oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and brake fluid change.

The condition is quite remarkable. The body and paintwork is exceptional, the interior very much like new with original seat covers, unmarked headlining, door cards, dashboard, switch gear, and floor covering. Original Ford wheel trims and factory fitted radio cassette. Original captain drivers seat with twin arm rests. The underside is as clean as the top with absolutely no signs of any previous welding repairs, totally solid and very well preserved with body coloured protection. All chassis components are immaculately clean. The under bonnet is original and very clean retaining its original bulkhead sound deadening and bonnet liner.

This Transit drives as well as it looks. Its renowned and indestructible 2.5 Di Diesel engine is very responsive and pulls very well. The gearbox, clutch, power steering, brakes and axle operate without fault, in fact one could imagine, just as it would have driven away from the showroom 26 years ago!

Amazingly the van has just had its first Mot in 26 years, valid until January 2026 with no advisories.

We have all the original instruction books including the owners handbook, service book, audio systems guide with orginal radio key card code and the Ford security system leaflet.

As with all classic commercials the advertising potential is huge often resulting in much success.

Most certainly an incredibly rare vehicle to find in this condition, an ideal addition to any private collection or to cruise the classic car shows in the summer, guaranteed to attract many admirers!
