1973 Triumph Spitfire Mk 1V 1300 Manual overdrive. Hard and soft tops. 22000 miles from new.

This unique, totally original and untouched little 'Spitty' has covered a mere 22000 miles form new. Supplied new by Triumph main dealers 'Clevland Car Co Ltd' in Boston Spa' near Wetherby to Mrs P. M. Westgarth 3rd Jan 1973 who kept the car for the following 40 years until it was sold as part of her estate in 2013 having covered just 21000 miles. It was purchased buy a gentleman as his 'Forever' car however was re sold after 12 months due to personal circumstances and purchased by the last local owner who owned it for 10 years to date.

Timewarp condition is a much abused term in the classic car circles, but this car fully justifies the term and must be the finest, unrestored, original lowest mileage 'Spitty' you could ever find.

The condition of the car today is impeccable. The 'Ziabart' rust protection treatment when new has certainly worked in preserving the car in the condition it presents today. The 'Triumph' white paintwork is unmarked, every body panel is original and lazer straight, the body lines and door shuts, gaps etc are as it left the factory. The interior is totally original and perfect in every respect, even the carpets are original. Fitted original Triumph Floor mats. The underside, chassis, sills, floor pans and outriggers etc are perfect and original. Original glass with etched registration number.

Obviously indredibly well cared for with a lovely patina that can never be replicated in a restored car. The spare wheel has never been used and retains its original jack and wheel brace in its original bag.

In the history file we have the original purchase invoice, hand book, Heritage certificate, previous Mots, service / repair invoices, old tax discs and original spare key.

Treasured by the last local owner, who in his tenure kept it regularly serviced, fitted four brand new tyres, new brake hoses, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, shock absorbers and overhauled the brake master and slave cylinder.

The car drives just like one could imagine it would, leaving the showroom 51 years ago with a smooth engine, gearbox and clutch and the overdrive operating with ease as it should.
